Unit 12 P3 – Introduction – I will be explain what a business may have to do when wanting to start an online business.

When starting an online business, instead of opening a store on the high street in a busy location  you are able to save money, this will reduce your start-up cost because you do not need to pay rent or for utilities etc. also you are able to manage you time well because you are working from home.

The first step you will have to take is finding a website that helps you to create on by using a template and choosing a design you would like first. This often cost money to start but not a lot. Then you will have to read the rules and regulation of opening a website for if you do not read them and understand properly you may be in some trouble in the near future.

Always ensure that your website has the right accessories and tools to help you create this, and you are able to track the amount of customers viewing the website and whom purchasing your product or service.
The second step is to create your website, there are many styles, colour schemes and designs which you are able to hire form professional website designers who will customize it to your perfection. You will need to remember to keep it as plain and simple as you can because if it is too complicated no one will hardly use your website and that could make your business and website fail and go bankrupt.

The third step is to register your business online as a sole trader meaning you trade alone with no other shareholders, and submit the paper work this consist of a business name, your type of business, the country, county etc. you are able to down load the application form from the governmental website and fill it out and paying the fees range in the UK depending on your type of business. It may start from £20 – £100 depending where in the UK you are living.

The final step is to purchase a business license. This is important for any business to get a license to sell products or goods or even a service, also this is a prevention of getting a fine by the law. It is also good if you are always aware of any trading policy’s and laws within the UK as this is an online business and you can have a lawyer that will help you check that you are within the business trading laws and if you have met all the business needs.
Unit 12 P4 - Introduction - I will be explaining the operational risks for a business when operating online.

It’s always important for any business to update their website information, products or services on a regular basis this includes, prices, new product/ stock etc. If this is not done it will be upsetting for customers to see that for months it has not been updated, which means the information will be incorrect or out of stock or no longer being sold by the organization. And there is also a high risk they will never purchase from your store again in the future.

It is always good to give the customer a range of method of payments, for it will attract more customers but it is always good to ensure the security of the customers personal details. For example:-
-
  - Verified by visa -Private between the customer and the seller only.
-
          - Do not make any changes during transactions without the customer’s permission.
-
  - Ensure the information is securely removed and destroyed for the system and not kept longer than needed.

In case of  order mistakes business should have order forms that are fool proof as it will help to lessen the amount of mistakes the customer makes. Also the company website should also avoid making mistakes, especially if they are on purpose.

Unit 12 P5 -

Unit 12 P6 -Introduction – I will be describing the benefits to a business organization marketing a product or service online.

An online business has some great advantages for example 24hour service so the customer can browse through what they want or think they would like to purchase, worldwide opportunities and you are able to look at your competitors website without them knowing.

This means while you are doing other things to help contribute to the business you are going to be making a profit of some sort. There are no closing times so customers are able to order products within their own time, and it can be delivered strait to their house.  However in the more modern world you are now able to access these things by using a smartphone, as long as it is connect to the internet you will be up and running in no time, and it does not cost a penny.

Unit 12 P7 - Introduction - I will be outlining the impact of an online business to the society.

Online businesses tend to be expanding, and this has big effect on society, especially in the employment department, business have found that this saves them more money by firing the people who used to work as a team and on only keeping two of the members to do the job and pay them half of what they are supposed to be earning. Also due to the recession that we are in businesses are not getting enough revenue which leaves people redundant because the organizations have to close down, this means an online business will no need as much people working for them, and it is easier to hand because they have much lower prices and do not need to buy rent or high bills as they are able to work from home.

Finally, the businesses/Organizations in the  high streets will be affected as well because 70% of shoppers prefer to order online because the receive more of a discount or percentage off and only 30% of shoppers still go to the store these can be known as loyal customers. The reason why people chose to order online most of the time is because they do not carry any shopping bags and struggle through crowns this will not be good if you have young children because you may lose them, but online you have a better choice of products, but if online businesses keep growing and striving as much as they are now most stores will become bankrupt and have to shut down.
